Founded by Nick Killeen and Niall Elassi in 2024, with the belief that recycling can go beyond functionality and transcend into the realm of art and beauty, the Melt Studio team is now joined by Candice Heynecke and Saskia Van Rensburg. Each with diverse and complementary professional backgrounds, but united by their passion for creative design, entrepreneurship, and love for our planet. 

Melt Studio’s aim is to make environmentally-friendly products and practices accessible to all, through the creation of beautiful, local, and sustainable jewellery which brightens up our everyday lives. 

Our jewellery is made from, what once was, discarded plastic waste destined for landfills (or our environment!). The plastic is collected, cleaned, and sorted by colour. We then melt it down, allow it to harden into colourful plastic sheets, from which we craft our designs. This process creates unique colour combinations and pieces, which each have their own story and life cycle before reaching your ears.
